Housing team in finals for national award
A housing team from Exeter is in the running for a top national award.
The team from Exeter City Council has been shortlisted for the MJ Achievement Awards, which are widely recognised as one of the most high profile awards in local government.
The Housing Customer Relations Team, who visit and provide support for the Council’s housing tenants is among eight finalists in the Best Council Services Team Award, which covers all aspects of frontline service delivery, not just housing.
Roger Coombes, Assistant Director - Housing, said: "This is fantastic news and demonstrates the level & quality of service this team is providing at a time when social housing is facing significant challenges. We have made major changes to the way in which we work with our tenants over the past year or so, and the team have embraced these changes magnificently. To have this work recognised as being at the leading edge of local authority service delivery is something we are incredibly proud of.”
The City Council team will be interviewed by the Award judges on 4 May and the Award ceremony is on 16 June in London.
