Leader praises East Devon Royal Mail workers’ outstanding delivery
The Leader of East Devon District Council, Councillor Paul Diviani delivered Christmas greetings in person on Tuesday 8 December to busy Royal Mail staff at the delivery office in Honiton.
Councillor Diviani was shown around the building by Delivery Office Manager Barry Marshall who introduced him to hardworking postmen and women, who ensure East Devon residents receive their Christmas mail.
"This is my annual early morning visit to the delivery office at Christmas and I was blown away yet again by just how much effort our posties put into delivering mail for people at this time of year,” said Councillor Diviani. “They really do a first class job.”
“Our postal workers provide a vital service during the festive period – they help deliver Christmas for many people by connecting relatives and friends in our area. I would like to thank them for all their hard work and wish them all the best over the busy festive period.”
Barry Marshall, Royal Mail Delivery Office Manager at Honiton, said:
“Our postmen and women are working extremely hard to deliver Christmas cards, letters and parcels to people across Honiton. We are grateful that the Leader visited the office to see our operation and to support the team.
“We’d like to remind our customers to post early so that friends and family have longer to enjoy their Christmas greetings. We would also like to ask everyone to please always use the postcode as this helps us greatly in the job that we do at this busy time.”
