Man dies following collision on A379

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision between a car and a pedestrian that left one man fatally injured.

Stephen McKay, from Newton Abbot, was fatally injured in the collision which happened on Thursday 1 December 2016.

Police were called at around 3pm following reports of a collision between a man in his 50’s and a Citroen Picasso on the A379 at Holcombe, Dawlish.

A number of road closures were put in place as paramedics and Air ambulance attended. The Air ambulance landed by the Smugglers Inn and the injured man was taken to Derriford Hospital where he later died.

Police are appealing for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash, or any vehicle which may have captured dash cam footage that could help with the investigation.
