Nomadic Travel celebrates 15 years in Exeter
An Exeter-based travel company is celebrating 15 years of trading in the city.
Incredible holidays in Bhutan, Indonesia and Guatemala are just some of the experiences enjoyed by customers of Nomadic Travel in recent weeks.
And now the company, in Gandy Street, has expanded its own breadth of expertise, launching its latest programme of staff visits to extraordinary destinations around the globe, to make sure customers continue to have the very latest up to the minute information.
“Research using the internet or guidebooks is fantastic,” said Rob Hitchings, managing director of Nomadic Travel.
“But if you want exceptional experiences, we feel it’s best to speak with someone who has been to a destination and soaked up its essential character. We make sure our customers get the very best advice by being out there around the world, discovering what’s new, what’s exciting and what people are going to love.”
The company has built its reputation on offering inspirational journeys to local adventure-minded travellers, creating award-winning tailor-made holidays and organising escorted tours across all seven continents.
Since opening its doors 15 years ago this month, the fully independent travel agent has grown its sales more than tenfold and now offers trips and holidays to over 120 countries worldwide.
Recently the Nomadic Travel team has arranged a variety of trips, with clients returning from the Indian Himalaya, where they spotted snow leopards, Ethiopia, to visit the source of the Blue Nile, and Burma, including a cruise along the Irrawaddy River.
Rob added: “Over the past decade and a half our team of travel-savvy consultants has arranged thousands of trips throughout the world for our customers across the region.
“Our growth has been founded on the enterprise of our loyal customers, who never cease to amaze us with their unquenchable spirit of adventure.”
In recent years the company has picked up various national accolades and awards within the travel industry, including most recently, Travel 2’s ‘Tailor-Made Agent of the Year’. The company also regularly features in the Top 10 of the AITO Specialist Agents’ national league table.
Irene Cox, of Nomadic Travel, said: “We pride ourselves on having local knowledge for destinations around the world. Our latest recruit Abbie will soon be able to give first-hand advice on the Amazon rainforest, Ecuador, Rajasthan and northern India’s ‘Golden Triangle’ because she’s getting out there, exploring and then talking to our customers. It’s the only way to go beyond what you read in a brochure or a website.”
Canada, Ladakh and Kashmir are all set for upcoming visits by members of Nomadic Travel, to ensure the business remains at the cutting edge of adventurous travel.
Rob added: “Over the 15 years, our aim has remained the same: to continue to offer our customers the finest possible travel experiences. Our passion for seeking out new experiences, supporting sustainable travel and connecting with communities and people around the globe remains as strong as ever.”
