Overturned car closes A38
Drivers faced long delays after a car overturned on the A38 today (Thursday 20 October).
The collision happened on the Plymouth-bound carriageway at Kennford.
One fire appliance from Exeter Middlemoor and two from Exeter Danes Castle, were mobilised to the above location following a call from police informing of a road traffic collision just after 10.30am.
A spokesperson for Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service said: "Upon arrival on scene fire crews confirmed that there was an RTC involving one car on its roof. All persons were free and clear of the vehicle.
"Crews ensured the scene and vehicle were safe, and one casualty was removed to hospital by air ambulance."
The road remained completely closed for two hours.
One lane was reopened southbound at 1.30pm, the other lanes reoepend at 3.30pm.
