Police are appealing for witnesses following a break-in at a home at West Clyst near Pinhoe in Exeter.

The offenders smashed a rear French door to get inside the property overnight on Sunday 24 January.

They escaped with a small safe, which was empty, and left the rest of the house untouched.

Police are appealing for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious individuals or activity in the area at the time.

They are particularly keen to trace a red van with red roof rails which was seen parked at the address around 8am on Sunday 24 January.

The vehicle has no connection to the victims.

Anyone who can assist is asked to contact police on 101 or email: 101@devonandcornwall.pnn.police.uk quoting crime reference CR/5514/16.
