Rural skip service to reach 35 towns and villages
Coastal Recycling and Teignbridge Council are set to bring a Rural Skip Service to rural towns and villages across the district until February 2018.
The ‘pop up recycling facility’ will give residents without access to a permanent recycling centre the chance to easily recycle certain materials and items locally, from bulky household waste to scrap metal and wood.
Experts Coastal Recycling will set up temporary collection containers on Saturdays offering a one-day recycling service at 35 sites from Shaldon to Widecombe in the Moor.
Residents will find staff on hand to help with their waste and recycling to ensure maximum levels of recycling and reuse are achieved.
Richard Marsh, Commercial Director, Coastal Recycling said: “We’re really pleased to be working with Teignbridge Council to deliver this service. We want to make it easier for people to thoughtfully dispose of their waste materials and drive up recycling levels in the area.”
Coastal Recycling’s first Rural Skip Services were held in Kenton and Buckfastleigh receiving nearly 11 tonnes of recycling and waste across the two events. Coastal Recycling’s advanced sorting and processing facilities ensured that 70% of this material was recycled.
