Share your memories of Royal Clarence Hotel
People are being invited to share their memories of the Royal Clarence Hotel by writing in a book of remembrance at Exeter Guildhall.
The Hotel was badly damaged by fire at the end of last month and many people have fond memories of either staying there, visiting the hotel for a meal or functions, or just enjoying it from the Cathedral Green.
Exeter Lord Mayor Cllr Cynthia Thompson, said she was saddened by the fire but confident that it would be restored back to its former glory: “The centuries old historic buildings destroyed by the fire in Cathedral Green has caused widespread sadness but as a community we look forward to the rebuilding of this much loved location of our city. I am pleased there will be an opportunity for people to write down their own fond recollections of the The Royal Clarence Hotel in a Book of Remembrance.”
The book will be available this week from 10.30am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. The book will only be available from 2pm until 4pm on Thursday.
