South Devon Highway work warning
Galliford Try will be carrying out a three-week phase of works on the A380 north of the Penn Inn Roundabout commencing Wednesday 2nd September. These works will require a series of temporary lane closures and overnight road closures.
The planning has included discussions with South West Highways, who are managing the Teign Viaduct works and maintenance works between Ware Barton and Telegraph Hill. Works have been coordinated where possible, to minimise disruption to road users.
The programme is as follows:
- Wednesday 2nd - Friday 4th September (inclusive) from 19:00-07:00, overnight closures of the northbound carriageway between Penn Inn and Ware Barton (A381 Teignmouth Road). Traffic to be diverted through Newton Abbot and Kingsteignton via the racecourse.
- Thursday 3rd September from 19:00-07:00, southbound carriageway closed between Ware Barton and Penn Inn. Traffic to be diverted through Newton Abbot and Kingsteignton via the racecourse.
- Monday 7th - Friday, 11th September (inclusive), 24 hour restriction - down to one lane only southbound from Ware Barton to Penn Inn. Delays are expected.
- Monday 7th - Friday, 11th September (inclusive) 19:00-07:00, northbound and southbound road closure of the A380 between Telegraph Hill and Ware Barton. These works are being managed by South West Highways and are not associated with the South Devon Link Road project. Galliford Try and South West Highways will use this closure to carry out works between Penn Inn and Ware Barton.
- Saturday 12th - Sunday, 13th September 19:00-07:00, overnight closure of northbound and southbound carriageways between Ware Barton and Penn Inn. Traffic to be diverted through Newton Abbot and Kingsteignton via the racecourse.
- Monday 14th - Friday 18th September 19:00-07:00, overnight closures of southbound carriageway between Ware Barton and Penn Inn. Traffic to be diverted through Newton Abbot and Kingsteignton via the racecourse.
During the same period Galliford Try will be undertaking works on the slip roads south of Penn Inn. To enable the works the number of lanes will be temporarily reduced. These works will continue throughout September.
