Vital resurfacing work to start in Cullompton
Overnight resurfacing work will start on Station Road and Fore Street in Cullompton next week. (Monday 22 February)
The night-time work, which is needed to improve the road condition and extend its lifespan, will start on Monday (22 February) and is scheduled to take three weeks.
Station Road will be closed to traffic from 7pm to 7am each evening from Monday (22 February) to Wednesday (24 February).
Fore Street will be closed overnight from 7pm to 7am between Wednesday (24 February) to Saturday 27 February, and from Monday 29 February to Friday 4 March. Work will begin at Aldi, working back through the town.
Higher Street will also be closed from 7pm to 7am from Wednesday 2 March to Saturday 5 March.
Councillor Stuart Hughes, the County Council’s Cabinet Member responsible for Highway Management said: “This resurfacing work is necessary, and while there may be temporary disruption while the work has to be carried out, the programme has been scheduled to minimise inconvenience to road users, residents and local businesses.”
Councillor John Berry, local County CouncilIor for Cullompton Rural, said: “I fully appreciate there will be some inconvenience caused by these works but I would ask everyone to please be patient. These works will benefit all road users when complete and in the meantime every effort will be made to minimise disruption.”
Traffic management and signed diversions will be in place for the duration of the work.
