Bet365 to start building work on training and leisure centre at Etruria Valley

Building work is due to start shortly on the sports hall and staff training facility that Bet365 is building in the Erturia Valley. Bet365 already has offices in this location and the new facility will be built on neighbouring land. The plans for this facility were submitted a number of years ago and building will commence shortly as part of a regeneration of the whole area.

The building will cost in the region of £7.7 million to construct and is expected to be completed by the end of April 2019. When it is completed the building will have courts for tennis, badminton and basketball, along with football pitches and gym equipment. All facilities will be free to use for employees of Bet365. There will also be nine jobs created when the centre opens.

As well as the fitness facilities in the building there are also rooms where meetings can be held. These rooms will be primarily used by Bet365 themselves but they will also be opened up to other local businesses which will provide a further boost to the local economy. Free car parking is available on site and this makes the location even more attractive for local businesses to hold their meetings.

Bosses at Bet365 recognise the link between a healthy and happy workforce and how productive this workforce is. The centre will be open between 8am and 11pm each day so that workers can use the facilities before or after their shifts. By encouraging their employees to take steps to improve their health, they are reducing the likelihood that their staff will be taking time off sick. Being physically active can also help to keep staff mentally healthy as well. The company will set up tournaments for various sports which will encourage the employees to make use of the facilities that are on offer.

The fitness facilities will also be open to members of the public. This means that the whole community will benefit from the new building and be able to improve their health. There may be a small fee to pay for them to use the facilities but this will help the company to recoup some of the cost of the building. These fees are also likely to be less than members of the public would pay to use gyms elsewhere and so still present a good deal for them which will be an incentive for them to take part in physical activity.

By the time the building is completed Bet365 expect to employ 300 more people. There are already 2500 people employed by the company in Stoke-On-Trent and they are the biggest private sector employer in the area.
