Beco celebrate win at Energy Efficiency and Healthy Homes Awards
Local renewables company, Beco, have recently been commended for their work at the Energy Efficiency and Healthy Homes Awards 2017.
The Totnes-based company which has been specialising in renewable energy solutions for 40 years, were commended for their work in two categories, Small Scale Project of the Year and Vulnerable Customer Support of the Year, thanks to their work on The Shine Project which provided renewable solar energy to tenants of South Devon Rural Housing Association across Devon’s South Hams area.
The Shine Project was an initiative launched in March 2015, providing solar power to 45 homes in the area and is set to save tenants £27,000 a year. The project also aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 77 tonnes per year. Beco worked alongside the Totnes Renewable Energy Society and South Devon Rural Housing Association who were vital to the development of the project.
Beco’s Operations Manager, Owen Griffith, took to the stage to receive both awards on behalf of the company which provides renewable energy solutions nationally and employs 25 local people.
