Brewin Dolphin host art exhibition private view
Wealth management company Brewin Dolphin has hosted a private view of the South West Academy’s Open Exhibition alongside Foot Anstey LLP and the Academy.
Invited guests to the Exeter Castle event, sponsored by Brewin Dolphin, included clients of both firms and charities from across the region. The Open Exhibition is the second of two major shows that the Academy stages each year to showcase outstanding new talent. Entries are invited from anyone in the region and a jury of experts selects what will go on display.
“It was a really good event that everyone enjoyed,” said Brewin Dolphin investment manager Kelly Eva. “The art was of an exceptional standard and we were pleased that a few sales were made on the night. The South West Academy charity does a fantastic job of promoting the arts, encouraging their appreciation and nurturing new practitioners.”
Brewin Dolphin also awarded a prize for the best original print, which went to Steve Manning for ‘Turn of the Tide’. Inspired by the early morning light reflecting off a high spring tide in the Otter Estuary, the work achieves a misty atmosphere by thinning the printing inks to make them less opaque.
“It’s a magical piece that succeeds in drawing you in,” said Kelly. “Definitely a very worthy winner.” Wealth management company Brewin Dolphin offers expert financial and investment advice from regional offices in Exeter, Plymouth and Truro.
