Devon firm earns prestigious cyber security certification
Kitsons, who have offices in Exeter, Plymouth and Torquay, have been awarded the Government’s Cyber Essentials Plus certification in recognition of their robust cyber security systems and controls.
The Cyber Essentials Plus certification demonstrates an organisation is addressing the most common internet threats with a series of key controls that have been independently tested and verified by qualified cyber security professionals. It builds upon the base level Cyber Essentials certification for organisations that wish to achieve enhanced levels of cyber resilience.
Kitsons worked with Exeter-based cyber security compliance company Securious to help facilitate the process.
Peter Creber, partner at Kitsons, said: “We take the security of our data and our clients’ data extremely seriously. In achieving the Cyber Essentials Plus certification we believe we have demonstrated that our systems are robust. We will, however, continue to do all we can to keep building cyber resilience as the threat landscape changes and evolves.”
Pete Woodward, the co-founder of Securious, said: “The Cyber Essentials Plus certification is a very important government standard that shows a real commitment to cyber security. We cannot praise Kitsons too highly for leading the way in achieving this certification and hope many more businesses and organisations in the South West will follow suit in light of the new General Data Protection Regulations due to come into force in 2018.”
