Exeter BID welcomes new board members

Exeter Business Improvement District (BID) has recently welcomed three new members, further widening the expertise offered in this thirteen-strong leadership team. Andrew McNeilly, Daisy Otton and Andrew Wise attended their first Board meeting at the end of October and represent Exeter Chamber of Commerce; Area 4 (Cathedral Green, Yard, Close and High Street) and Area 1 (Paris Street and Sidwell Street) respectively.

Guildhall Centre Manager, Andrew McNeilly has over 15 years of retail experience and 17 years of property management. Andrew currently manages Guildhall Shopping & Dining as well as Queen Street dining. Passionate about Exeter, its businesses and diverse offering for visitors and residents, Andrew takes a pro-active role in promoting the city to a regional audience.

Daisy Otton of Morgan & Pope situated in the Cathedral Yard, is a Paralegal who specialises in Residential Property. Daisy’s area of expertise further extends the impressive breadth of qualifications and skills currently offered by the Board.  

Of her recent appointment, Daisy said: “As an Exeter resident and professional, I am delighted to take a position on the BID Board. My portfolio is a focal part of the city and I am thrilled to be representing it. I look forward to working with my fellow Board members to drive forward plans, ideas and events to continue Exeter’s reputation as an exciting and thriving city.”

Andrew Wise, Manager of Halfords in Sidwell Street has over 20 years of experience in retail to bring to the Board. Andrew says: “Halfords have been on Sidwell Street for well over 50 years. I am proud to be working as part of the BID.”

Eight of the Board members champion their own specific geographical area of the BID and represent a total of 640 businesses. The remaining five Board members provide advice and guidance for specialisms that include Hospitality, Tourism, Culture and Transport and join a further three members who officially represent Exeter Chamber of Commerce, Exeter City Council and Devon County Council.

There is currently a vacancy on the Exeter BID Board for Area 6 (South Street and North Street). An official application process will commence in the New Year and representatives of this area are invited to apply.
