Private client lawyers in need of short term funding are being supported by Exeter based Bricks Finance whose relationship approach to lending and prompt decision-making suits legal practitioners unable to readily secure funds from traditional sources.

At a meeting of the West of England branch of STEP (Society of Estate and Trust Practitioners) held at Sandy Park conference centre last week, delegates heard of opportunities to help their clients by using local and bespoke borrowing to meet short term financial requirements associate with probate, litigation, estate management, Inheritance tax and cash flow issues on trust matters.

Bricks Director, Clive Banks explained: “Professional executors are attracted to our service because it solves their problems quickly, particularly where there is no liquidity in an estate to pay for essential estate maintenance while probate is in progress.

“We not only offer sensible, asset-backed lending based on mutual trust and understanding, the service comes with an assurance of high ethical standards from people that the practitioners will already know.”

Richard Pollock, Chairman of STEP West of England, said: “Bricks Finance is a strong option for private client lawyers and they demonstrated some of the success they have already had in providing short term finance to help clients. “The response from the STEP delegates was certainly one of the most enthusiastic we have had towards a guest sponsor.”

Clive Banks added: “Over the past year we have provided investors with secure investments at very attractive rates and facilitated short term loans for probate. I believe we are demonstrating clearly that the unique nature of our business, local and bespoke, is suited ideally to the needs of STEP professionals.”
