Family lawyer appointed as Trustee
Associate Solicitor Amy Langford from The Family Law Company has been appointed as Trustee to Citizens Advice Exeter.
Amy, who is a specialist in divorce and finance, has previously been a duty solicitor for the CAB in Bridgwater and recently set up a monthly family legal clinic at Taunton Citizens Advice.
She said: “CAB provides a great service and I want to be able to continue my work with them. I share the same values as I want to help the community and play a part in changing things for the better.
She said: “I think a big problem for people needing help with family issues is the cuts in legal aid. Many people on low incomes are unable to access legal advice because they are not victims of domestic abuse. I see this on a daily basis which is why I have been involved with setting up the legal clinic in Taunton after seeing how successful the Exeter clinic was.”
Amy is joined by two other new Trustees; Steve Morgan and Julia Crocket, as well as colleague Donna Hart who has been a Trustee with CAB since 2015.
Dennis Mardon Chair of Exeter CAB added: “I am delighted to have Amy joining our Board, bringing her wealth of experience in family and finance matters to our organisation.”
The Citizens Advice service aims to provide the advice people need for the problems they face and improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives.
Advice provided by the Citizens Advice service is free, independent, confidential, and impartial, and available to everyone regardless of race, sex, disability, sexuality or nationality.
