Gregory Distribution Limited (GDL) was amongst the winners at Exeter College’s Annual Skills Awards at an event staged by and hosted by apprentices at the college where outstanding apprentices and employers were recognised for their achievement.

The award citation said that GDL “proved to be an exemplary Apprenticeship provider, acknowledged by Ofsted in the newly released video of good practice and continues to develop its business with Apprenticeships at the heart of all that they do. The winner of New Business of the Year, sponsored by Thrive Talent goes to Gregory Distribution Ltd.

“In under 12 months, Gregory has fully embraced Apprenticeship provision and has celebrated the benefits that young people can bring to their organisation. They have been exemplary in promoting opportunities supporting candidates and making them feel part of the team. The early momentum and success has only continued to build and they have become notable ambassadors for Exeter College and Apprentices.”

GDL’s Head of HR Paul Turner added: “We have a fantastic group of apprentices working for us and this award not only recognises the efforts put in by them but also the teams that they work in and the relationship that we have built up with the college over the last 12 months.

“Going forward, in an ever more challenging employment market, apprentices will be one of the cornerstones of our business and I want to take the opportunity to thank everyone that has been involved with recruiting and developing our apprentices, not only via Exeter College but through other routes such as our driver apprentice scheme.”
