Holiday park operators share tips for success
The most successful holiday parks in England and Wales are sharing their tips for success in a new guide, which aims to help raise standards across the board in the holiday parks sector.
Stephens Scown – the current holder of the British Legal Awards’ UK Law Firm of the Year title – has produced ‘Park Life’, bringing together insights and advice from award winning holiday parks. The guide includes case studies from a range of holiday parks including Devon’s Ladram Bay, Whitecliff Bay on the Isle of Wight and Tree Tops Caravan Park in North Wales, along with advice from industry experts such as VisitBritain and TripAdvisor.
Kirstie Apps, partner and specialist in holiday parks law at Stephens Scown said: “Holiday park operators are among the busiest people I know. Our idea for ‘Park Life’ is to make it really quick and easy for them to get an insight into the stories behind award winning parks. The advice covers everything from marketing to customer service and sustainability.”
Kirstie adds: “Our clients are telling us that they are expecting another good season, with the value of the pound and concerns about the security of international travel making holidays at home more appealing to UK families. However, there is no room for complacency and parks need to continue to meet and exceed their guest’s expectations. We hope ‘Park Life’ will give them some good ideas to do just that.”
Ten parks have provided an insight to their businesses for the guide, including Ladram Bay, the multi award winning holiday park on Devon’s Jurassic coast. Carla Newman, Ladram Bay’s Marketing and Events Manager said: “We were really pleased to get involved in the Park Life campaign and are happy to support anything that helps to share best practice and drive up standards in the industry.
“We achieved 5 star VisitEngland status in 2015 and have been delighted to retain this high accolade. The last couple of years have seen major improvements including our new pool complex. This year’s new additions are a climbing wall with fourteen different routes and the renovation, extension and brand new design of our Coast Takeaway. 2017 looks set to be our best season yet.”
