It started with a tweet... Signs for a Growing Community

Signs Express Exeter's Nick Baxter-Sibley was catching up on twitter when he noticed a ‘tweet for help’ – Montgomery Primary School were looking for help with a sign for their new Community Garden.

Sarah Vickery, Assistant Head at the school, takes up the story...

“At Montgomery we take our motto 'Taking Care of the Future' very seriously. So when we were presented with the opportunity to collaborate with St Thomas Residents Association and Blooming St Thomas to create a community garden in our local park we jumped at the chance. We have relished the opportunity to work with our local community and teach Monty children where their food comes from. Our Monty children have been enthusiastic gardeners from the get go, proudly showing off their garden to the Britain in Bloom judges last summer.

The only thing our garden lacked was a proper sign to explain the concept of the shared community space encouraging people to come in and work with us. Our laminated posters weren't really doing the job, getting weather worn very quickly.

We put a plea out to the local community via Twitter, hoping an Exeter business would help us out with a proper sign. Signs Express Exeter were happy to help us, and provided us with a terrific sign (free of charge) that promotes our community garden perfectly. We are truly grateful to work with a local company who highly value community projects and support local primary schools. Thank you very much to everyone at Signs Express Exeter!”
