Local site managers win awards in national housebuilding competition
SITE managers working for local housebuilder Barratt Developments, which includes Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes, have scooped two prestigious awards in a national competition to find the best-run building sites in Britain.
Bob Maund who works for Barratt Homes in Fremington and Jason Dugdale who works on site for David Wilson Homes in Exeter gained official recognition for the excellence of which they run their developments with a Pride in the Job Quality Award.
In Fremington, Bob is overseeing work at Riverside Park, a development of two, three and four bedroom homes in North Devon. Jason Dugdale is overseeing work at Rydon Lawns in Exeter and is no stranger to the Pride in the Job awards having been recognised for his work in previous years.
The two winners were joined by site managers working for Barratt Developments across the UK, which have scooped 79 awards for quality workmanship.
The Pride in the Job Quality Awards are the most coveted in the housebuilding industry. They are awarded after the construction standard setting body National House-Building Council (NHBC) carries out a series of spot check site inspections to select the best-organised and best-quality housing developments.
Thousands of site managers throughout the UK were judged on every aspect of their job, including technical skill, quality workmanship, customer service and site safety.
The site managers will now go forward to the final round of the competition which will select the best site manager in Britain.
Barratt Homes managing director Paul Moran said he was delighted that local site mangers have again been judged as among the best in the housebuilding industry. “The official recognition of the jobs which our winning site managers are doing, shows that we are building some of the best quality homes in the country.
“The site manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring our teams deliver high-quality new homes and we are delighted that our investment in training and developing the very best staff has recognised in this way. This is truly an outstanding result and one which should inspire confidence in our buyers.”
This award comes on the back of Barratt Developments being awarded five stars by the Home Builders Federation (HBF) for customer satisfaction. Barratt is the only major national housebuilder to be ranked as five star by the HBF for the last seven years.
