Morgan Sindall reaches key milestone at £1.7m residential project in Exeter
Morgan Sindall, the construction and infrastructure company, is making key progress on a project to deliver two residential apartment blocks in Exeter.
The £1.7 million project is being delivered for a locally based investor and is well underway. The project includes the construction of Block A, a three-storey building which comprises seven apartments, and Block B, a two-storey building which comprises four apartments.
The installation of the second floor to Block A has been completed and works are progressing to roof level, while Block B is currently at roof level and being made weather tight.
Once completed in summer 2017, all of the apartments will have two bedrooms and seven of the apartments will include en suite bathrooms. Block A will have a modern glass frontage stairwell and both buildings will be clad with traditional brickwork in keeping with the nature of the surrounding buildings.
The Morgan Sindall project team will also deliver a 26-space car parking area, and a bike and bin store as part of the project.
Nigel Whelan, area manager at Morgan Sindall, said: “We’re delighted to be delivering this important scheme which will provide residents in Exeter with a contemporary and comfortable living environment.
“The project is being delivered on a site which is surrounded by existing residential buildings, including a care home. Our project team is highly experienced in working in environments of this nature and meticulous planning has been undertaken to ensure the work is delivered safely and on schedule.”
Simon Steele-Perkins, representing the client, said: “We are delighted with the progress on site so far, which is on time and on budget. It is a difficult site and the time invested by all concerned in preparation before work commenced on site was time well spent. The development is programmed to be completed in summer 2017.”
