New dentist to fill the gap at The Exeter Dental Centre
A private dental centre in Exeter is hoping to fill a cavity by recruiting a new dentist to join the growing team.
The Exeter Dental Centre, situated on Castle Street in the city centre, will be welcoming a new dentist this month, following a huge investment and considerable expansion. The last six months have seen the centre grow to seven surgeries and a skin treatment suite, over six floors, after taking over the former Michael Spiers Jewellers retail space on the ground floor.
This is the second large investment in the practice since its launch as The Exeter Dental Centre in July 2012. In 2013 the practice had a huge overhaul including a new interior décor and refurbishment of the outside of the building. Formerly Castle Square Dental Practice, principal dentist and owner Michael Hesketh has seen the business flourish in the last three years, with clinician numbers increasing to include seven dentists, four hygienists, a European Expert in implants and a specialist in periodontics.
Dr Joanna Sutcliffe has joined the team as an associate dentist, following 10 years as a partner at another city dental centre. Having qualified in 1995 from Bristol University, Jo brings with her 20 years of experience and skill in preventive dentistry aimed at reducing decay and gum disease for individuals and families, the management of complex dental needs, including dental implants along with sedation techniques to help anxious patients.
She said: “I am thrilled and excited to joining such a forward-thinking and growing team at The Exeter Dental Centre. I am so pleased to be able to offer my patients the opportunity to join such a state of the art practice where the team approach to care ensure the very best in dentistry for them.”
Michael Hesketh said: “Since taking over the business, the practice has gone from strength to strength and we are excited to grow and develop the practice, building on our seven day opening and advanced dentistry offering. We are thrilled to be entering a new phase for the business and welcoming new members of the team on board.
“When we took over the practice three years ago, we wanted to build on the strong business foundations and set about updating the look of the centre as well as investing in online booking and a new computer system. Now, we have increased the number surgeries by taking over the entire space, all six floors, so it was a big project.
“We are looking forward to working with Jo and welcoming her here at the practice.”
