Trowers & Hamlins' Corporate and Commercial practice in the South West continues to grow following a number of recent strategic hires.

Following a bumper year of deal activity in 2022, where the team advised many of the best food, drink and leisure businesses in the South West of England, the team has continued on its growth trajectory having added six new senior and experienced lawyers in the last two years and with considerable spread of skillsets and experience the team currently consists of two partners, a senior associate, three associates and a trainee.

The Corporate and Commercial team has considerable experience in advising clients on a range of matters relating to mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructures and reorganisations as well as providing advice to companies, directors and shareholders on their legal and regulatory compliance obligations.

The growth of the Corporate and Commercial team also mirrors that of the Exeter office itself, which has grown from 125 staff to over 170 staff, covering a full range of legal disciplines.

Senior Associate Dominic Ring, a qualified lawyer of nine years, is the latest individual to join the growing practice and joins Trowers from Doyle Clayton where he spent two years working in its corporate and commercial team. Dominic will play a crucial role in growing the Corporate and Commercial teams presence in Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall regions, where he has previously acted on a number of large and high profile transactions.

Lynne Rathbone, Head of the Corporate and Commercial team in Exeter, commented: "This is an exciting time for the Exeter office and particularly the Corporate team as we continue to strengthen our practice. Dom joining the firm will further boost our breadth and depth of team experience as he brings with him considerable knowledge and expertise in advising a broad range of clients from multi-national companies to start ups.

"In Exeter, we are passionate about ensuring that we are best positioned to provide clients with first-rate legal services and the recent growth of the office is a testament to our commitment to providing this level of service.

As we look forward to the rest of 2023, the team has numerous projects in the pipeline from large forthcoming M&A transactions to growth and investment rounds to supporting high growth start-up businesses."
