The owners of the property Kennaway Estates Ltd bought the property as a shell and have sympathetically refurbished and converted the property into seven luxury “loft living” style apartments and two ground floor commercial units with glorious views over the River Exe.

The commercial units are occupied by café – bar Puerto Lounge and an Asian Fusion restaurant called Wabi-Sabi. Both restaurants have riverside, outdoor seating areas, so diners can make the most of the views while they enjoy the great food.

Sarah Lavender, Relationship Manager at Principality Building Society said: “PBS Commercial are delighted to have been able to assist with the refinance of this mixed use, Grade II listed, period Bonded Warehouse property located on the Quayside in Exeter.

“The restoration and conversion has retained the character and made a feature of many of the original parts of the building and has successfully reutilised a historic building, whilst retaining a piece of Exeter’s history.”

Oliver Mitchell at Kennaway Estates Ltd, said: “We are incredibly proud to have restored back to it’s former glory such an historic building on the quayside in Exeter. Our remit was to renovate and improve the functionality of the building whilst still retaining the original features that give the building almost landmark status. It was a pleasure working with Sarah and the team at Principality with refinancing their professionalism and diligence was second to none. We very much look forward to working with them on other projects in the future”
