PSG gets the silver seal of approval for its Corporate Communications campaign
Property Search Group’s Southernhay Life campaign has won the Silver award for best Corporate and Business Communications Campaign, at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations PRide Awards in Bristol.
The award was presented to PR and marketing agency Astley Media for its work with Property Search Group’s Somerset and Plymouth offices, and legal firms in the Exeter area, to raise funds for the Fire Appeal following the blaze that destroyed the city’s Royal Clarence Hotel.
The awards cover the whole of the South of England from Kent and Sussex to Cornwall and the Isles of Sicily, with winners selected by a judging panel of industry experts from other parts of the country.
Property Search Group and Astley Media came up with the idea of bringing Exeter’s law firms together to raise money for the Devon Community Foundation’s Fire Fund, by commissioning and auctioning a painting of a day in the life of Southernhay, traditionally the city’s legal hub. The unique and quirky painting, created by Devon artist and illustrator Sara Nunan, features the city’s solicitors and barristers enjoying their hobbies and interests from surfing to singing and rugby to reading.
Andy Towers of PSG Somerset, which provides conveyancing search services to legal firms across the region, said: “At PSG we prioritise local relationships and giving back to the communities we live and work in and so we are delighted that Southernhay Life has been recognised in this way.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank the legal firms who took part in the project and helped to make it such a success. The campaign was a great example of the legal community joining together to make a real difference and create a lasting legacy.”
The funds raised from the auction were combined with donations from the 13 law firms, for involvement in the painting, and the sale of limited edition prints, giving a final total of nearly £3,000.
The money raised by the Southernhay Life campaign is going towards the creation of a cultural tribute, that recognises the historical importance of the buildings lost. The public art currently in progress is expected to be unveiled next year.
The participating law firms, who took part in the campaign and donated funds were Browne Jacobson, Crosse and Crosse, Dunn and Baker, Everys, Foot Anstey, Ford Simey, Gilbert Stephens, Kitsons, Magdalen Chambers, Michelmores, Morgan and Pope, Stephens Scown and WBW Solicitors. The campaign was supported by Devon and Somerset Law Society.
