Wessex Reserve Forces’ & Cadets’ Association (Wessex RFCA), has been announced as one of the sponsors of Devon Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Business Dinner, featuring a key note speech from well known entrepreneur and BBC ‘Dragon’, Deborah Meaden.

Joining Babcock, Devon County Show, Redrok UK and Transport Partner Plymouth City Bus as a sponsor of the event, Wessex RFCA’s sponsorship of the Annual Business Dinner, taking place on 19th May at Sandy Park, Exeter, demonstrates its commitment to working with the local business community.

Suzi Cumberland, Head of Operations at Devon Chamber of Commerce said: “The Chamber is delighted to welcome Wessex RFCA as one of the sponsors for this year’s Annual Business Dinner. This event is a highlight in the Chamber’s calendar, attracting businesses from around the county to celebrate a successful year and hear from a high profile business speaker. I’d like to thank Wessex RFCA and all of our sponsors for their support in making this event possible and look forward to welcoming them, along with our guests and key note speaker, Deborah Meaden, to Sandy Park on 19th May for what is sure to be a fantastic evening.”

Successful female entrepreneur, Deborah Meaden, will join Devon Chamber of Commerce and an audience of business people at Sandy Park on Thursday 19th May to give a ‘Dragon’s eye view’ of business.

Having left school after O-Levels, Deborah studied at business college before launching her own business at the age of 19. Throughout her career Deborah has embarked on a number of other business ventures and worked her way up to further her career through a variety of roles within Weststar Holidays, growing the business and undertaking a management buyout before selling the company in 2005.

Deborah joined the panel for series three of BBC 2 programme ‘Dragons Den’ and has since invested in a number of businesses. Today Deborah’s portfolio of investments ranges from a market research company to Value My Stuff, an online valuation service.

Jon Beake, Employer Engagement Director for Wessex RFCA said: “Wessex RFCA is delighted to be sponsoring Devon Chamber’s Annual Business Dinner. Raising the profile of the ways in which employers can engage with, and support, members of the Reserve and Cadet Forces is incredibly important.

"Three of the other sponsors have already pledged their support with a tailored set of Covenant pledges; so, as we work closely with the Chamber in developing its own Armed Forces Covenant we’re hopeful that our relationship will enable us to highlight the positive partnering opportunities that are available with many other businesses across the county.”

Devon Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Business Dinner is open to all attendees. Free transport will be provided for attendees from across South West Devon and Torbay by Travel Partner, Plymouth Citybus.
