Hot Rods and Harlots cuts it in Exeter with help from NatWest
When hairdresser Vanessa Wright decided to launch her own unique vintage-inspired salon she turned to NatWest for help.
A seasoned hairdresser with 25 years’ experience in the local area, Vanessa knew Exeter could benefit from a new and quirky salon. Working with Daryll Hall, Business Specialist at her local NatWest branch, she developed a business plan and secured a £15k start up loan from which Hot Rods and Harlots was born.
Vanessa’s instinct has proven to be right and since opening on Sidwell Street last month the salon has seen unprecedented demand for its services to the point that they are already looking to recruit an additional barber and hairdresser!
Vanessa explains, “The service I have received from NatWest has been exceptional. Daryll really took the time to understand my ambitions and has kept in touch at every stage to see how my plans were progressing.”
Vanessa continues, “I believe in always giving something back and am training to be a hairdressing teacher as I would like the salon to play a role as an academy for the local colleges to encourage more people to get into this fantastic industry.”
Her plans don’t stop there – having wished she had taken the leap years before – Vanessa is already looking for other potential cities that could benefit from her unique Hot Rods and Harlots brand.
Daryll Hall from NatWest concludes,” Vanessa has shown real vision in developing this unique brand. With her local knowledge she understood what the area needed and the bookings speak for themselves! NatWest is delighted to be part of this business’ success to date and we look forward to watching it grow.”
Hotrods and Harlots Hair Parlour is based at 34 Sidwell Street.
