Mark and Becky Ormrod set up a new business together in 2013, not a remarkable statement but when you know what this couple have been through to reach this stage in their lives it is a truly remarkable story and Sampson Hall are delighted to be helping this couple reach yet another set of personal goals and achievements.

Mark and Becky will be attending the Sampson Hall two day Business Planning workshop in February at The Innovation Centre, Exeter University to assist them in taking their business to the next level. In partnership they have set up Juice Plus+, a business they truly believe in and one that fits with their own personal standards of adopting healthy lifestyles.

Christmas Eve 2013 was the sixth anniversary of Mark Ormrod becoming the UK’s first triple amputee from Afghanistan, he was serving as a Royal Marine when he stepped on an IED that blew off both his legs and an arm. Since that day Mark and his wife Becky have overcome more in the last few years than many of us will in a lifetime.

Having been told initially that he would be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life, Mark was determined to prove everyone wrong, he made a decision early on that he was going to begin a journey and see just how far that journey would take him. He has been supported throughout this journey by Becky, they became engaged to be married whilst Mark lay in hospital very soon after the initial injury. Mark has a daughter, Kezia, from a previous relationship and he and Becky have gone on to have a son Mason and they now have a six month old daughter Evelyn.

Mark admits he used to be a selfish person but since the accident he now lives a life full of positivity, setting himself goals and truly believing that you can achieve anything you want from life. He is now applying this philosophy to the business that he and Becky have set up together. Their lives are what they are today through sheer grit and determination to do better, setting goals, undertaking extreme challenges but mentally and personally believing in their dreams and turning those dreams into reality.

Phil Sampson said "We are delighted to be involved with this part of Mark and Becky’s journey together and we know together with their combined skills and courage they will make a great success of this new venture"
