Ashfords LLP Proud To Introduce Their Newly Qualified Registered Trade Mark Attorney

Ashfords LLP has strengthened their Intellectual Property offering following the recent qualification of Jenny Guild as a Trade Mark Attorney. Jenny has recently passed her Registered Trade Mark Attorney exams, making her a (soon to be) fully qualified Registered Trade Mark Attorney.

Jenny Guild, who grew up in the West Country before studying law and graduating from King's College London, joined Ashfords in 2011 as a paralegal. Having initially planned on becoming a solicitor, Jenny found her niche in Brands and Trade Marks and decided to follow a non-traditional route into this specialist area of law, joining Carl Steele as a Registered Trade Mark Attorney in Ashfords' IP Team. Carl, Ashfords' partner and Head of Trade Marks, is Exeter's only dual-qualified Solicitor and Registered Trade Mark Attorney.

Jenny's fully-qualified status strengthens Ashfords' offering as the largest Intellectual Property team outside of Bristol. As far as we know, Ashfords will shortly be the only firm in Devon to employ more than one Registered Trade Mark Attorney.

The Intellectual Property team provides advice and expertise to individuals, businesses, charities and public sector bodies across a range of industries and sectors. They specialise in protecting, defending and exploiting clients' technology, inventions, ideas, designs, creative works, trade marks and brands, both in the UK and overseas.

Ashfords’ commitment to their staff development and training can be seen through its continual support and funding of high level training and courses for all staff members, including those following different career paths.

Chairman and Head of Ashfords’ IP Team, Mark Lomas commented: “Ashfords is extremely proud of Jenny and to have supported her career and professional development.  She has always shown outstanding knowledge and ability combined with a brilliant client service attitude. It takes a lot to pass these exams and she is to be congratulated for sailing though them. Clients are increasingly aware of the need to protect their intellectual property and they can be sure that our IP team will protect them.“

Partner and Ashfords' Head of Trade Marks, Carl Steele commented: “Jenny's qualification means that Ashfords is now able to offer clients the services of not just one, but two, registered trade mark attorneys, something no other firm in Devon can offer. Well done Jenny.“

Jenny commented on her recent qualification: "I am delighted to have completed my training and to shortly qualify as a Registered Trade Mark Attorney. I am grateful to Ashfords for supporting me throughout my training and I look forward to being part of the Intellectual Property team as it continues to grow and develop."
