Chartered accountants appoint new partner
Bideford-based chartered accountants, Haines Watts North Devon LLP, announce the promotion of 34-year-old Matthew Melksham to partner bringing the firm to a seven-strong partnership. Matthew started his career in his home City of Bath working in the catering and hospitality trade, which provided him with real hands-on experience in business and a strong customer focused approach. Six years based in Somerset advising both corporate and non-corporate owner-managed businesses followed before he re-located to North Devon over seven years ago.
Haines Watts is a Top 20 Firm of Accountants and national network with around 50 offices with each office operating independently to offer a wide range of services tailored to the local market. Haines Watts North Devon LLP provides accountancy and taxation services to SME’s across the South West dealing with owner-managed businesses and individual’s tax affairs. The Bideford office looks after more than 500 owner managed businesses including corporate and professionals, small businesses, sole traders and boasts an extensive portfolio of farmers.
Matthew has been working as an accountant for over 12 years and in that time has been involved with clients ranging from the local plumber to truly international businesses. He joined Haines Watts Bideford office as a senior manager in December 2012 to look after the corporate clients in the firm.
John Edwards Managing Partner Haines Watts North Devon says: “We welcome Matt as a new partner. His accounting expertise coupled with a broader business experience makes him a practical and well-rounded business advisor. The feedback I have received from clients is that Matt’s excellent communication and technical skills means he is a man you can talk to and trust. In addition to his impeccable qualifications and experience Matthew brings with him dynamic enthusiasm to do the very best for his clients which absolutely fits the ethos of Haines Watts North Devon.”
Matthew Melksham Partner Haines Watts North Devon LLP says: “I am delighted to be a partner and am looking forward to my new role in the firm. I believe that all businesses deserve the best advice possible and with Haines Watts’s national backing and expertise we can provide this at competitive local prices. I provide a personal service including accounting, tax and business advice to incorporated and non-incorporated business entities, owner managers and sole traders by giving a structured, pragmatic and timely advice to help grow clients’ businesses. My role covers the areas a financial director would normally deal with which allows the owner or managers more time to concentrate on the other aspects of the business; with the added advantage that they don’t have to pay a full-time Financial Directors annual salary. Using the resources of Haines Watts I look to grow the net worth of the owner managers I work with and ensure that all is done to the highest standard.”
