Chocolate Couture - Lift off..
A fusion of fashion and chocolate adorned the stage at Exeter Castle as more than 150 flocked to witness the launch of Choccie Bar’s Online Chocolate Boutique.
To showcase the company’s collection of stunning artisan designer handmade chocolates, Choccie Bar presented a rather unusual show, enlisting the help of a number of leading Devon fashion houses to help demonstrate the colourful confectionary.
Couture by Anja’s of Budleigh Salterton, Lugets of Exeter and Catwalk 09 fused with images of chocolate and the twelve models to create a highly ceremonial show as guests sampled some of choccie bar’s inventive gourmet chocolate flavours.
"The evening was a celebration not simply of the rather fabulous chocolates that are now widely available online, but also a tribute to the incredibly exciting independent businesses that we have in this area, says owner Katie Jones.
"Not only were we showing off incredible fashions, but the venue is a stunning place to be, we were fed by the amazing Tim Golder using the produce of another incredible business, Burrow Farm, which also had it's launch on the same day -
We're living in an amazing city for new and independent businesses which is a growing hub for foodie excellence," she adds.
The show element of the evening was hosted by Celia Delaney of SpeakingSuccess, assisted by Emma Ravensfield, one of the founders of Exeter Alternative Theatre.
"The launch night was typical of Katie and her confectionary; creative, fun and oozing luxury. It was a delight to address a packed room of local businesses, who were obviously enjoying the champagne and chocolates, as well as the couture on display, says Celia.
“My husband and I even managed to buy all our family Christmas chocolates from the delightful pop up shop", she adds.
The online boutique is now live and open and the new Tasting Club launches in the new year.
