Exeter advertising agency expands into new City Centre premises

Chalk & Ward, the largest independent full service advertising agency in the South West, has moved from their old home at Kings Wharf on Exeter Quay to a large Georgian Building in Southernhay.

The company were based at Kings Wharf on The Quay for 10 years but recent staff expansion within the company and the creation of separate division Chalk & Ward Public Relations, meant that the move was desperately needed.

Managing Director Robert Chalk said; “We loved being on The Quay, so if we were going to move it had to be for the right reasons. Giles Ward and I have been looking for some where to buy for the best part of a decade but just never found the right space. When our lease came up for renewal last year the Chichester Place property also came on the market; it was like it was meant to be. As soon as Giles and I saw the building we knew it was the place.”

Giles Ward, Chalk & Ward’s Creative Director added; "Chichester Place is a stylishly evocative building set in the heart of Exeter. We've created a purpose-designed space that blends traditional elegance with contemporary chic to give us an inspiring and creative work environment."

In fact, creative solutions include the up-cycling of a selection of the building’s original doors including those used in the larder for the house. Giles has created an unusual artwork display of the doors on the company’s walls.

With the move comes the creation of the company’s new division Chalk & Ward Public Relations headed up by PR Director Bracken Vernon-Jelier which offers clients all aspects of online and offline PR and Event Management. Bracken added; “It’s been wonderful to be able to time the office move with the launch of our new division and branding to accompany it. The last 12 months has seen us more than double the number of clients we are working with, specialising particularly in leisure, tourism, food and education.”

Visitors are invited to pop in to the offices to look around and meet the staff.
