Highly regarded Exmouth based dentists Hedley Saunders and Charles Barrie are delighted to welcome Dr Robert Mew as a new partner in the practice. Robert qualified at University of Birmingham and joined the expanding practice two years ago. He is a big believer in minimally invasive dentistry and preventive treatment and is an active member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, assisting at conferences and keeping up to date with the latest techniques in cosmetic dentistry and bleaching. In his spare time Robert is a keen rower and found time to marry Dr Nicola Burton, also a dentist at the practice, this August.

The practice has also welcomed a new dentist, Dr Andrew Rochester to the team in August. Andy is married with two children and lives in Topsham. He completed his degree in dentistry at Peninsula Dental School.

Fairfield House Dental Surgery is a modern thriving dental practice situated in an impressive large white Georgian house near the centre of Exmouth. The practice has a long and proud history having been at this location since the 1920s.

Senior partner, Hedley Saunders said, “We are delighted to have Robert as a new partner and welcome Andy to our growing dental team. Our new appointments follow recent expansion of the practice with the opening of a new sixth surgery at the end of 2012. This was needed to meet growing patient numbers for both dental treatments and advanced cosmetic procedures.”

Hedley and Charles have been supported in their expansion and business planning by Paul Carnell, a specialist partner at chartered accountants Thompson Jenner LLP. Partner Charles Barrie said, “Paul has been an immense help to us on a wide range of business issues associated with our expansion and the accounting needs of the practice. His dental sector knowledge has been invaluable to us, not just with the business planning for our expansion, but also assisting us with our partnership restructuring arrangements, advice on property ownership and assisting us with our business and personal tax planning”

He went on to say, “There have been numerous occasions when we have needed some rapid expert business advice and Paul and his team have always been on hand to give advice and help with any day to day business support needs.

Paul Carnell added. “We believe that Hedley and his team have a superb dental practice at Fairfield House and their continued growth and success speaks for itself. I have enjoyed working with them immensely and seeing the continued success of the practice comes as no surprise”.

Hedley Saunders concluded, “The practice now has a strong team of seven dentists and support staff providing both NHS and Private dental treatment and, in response to increasing demand,Dr Sarah Hall also offers facial aesthetic treatments such as Botox and Restylane. As a modern practice we are dedicated to providing the highest quality of preventative care and treatment in relaxed surroundings.

He added, “Our ethos is to run a friendly, yet efficient, dental surgery in order to make a patients visit to Fairfield House as easy and comfortable as possible. I believe this has been a major factor in our continuing growth”

The practice demands the highest standard in patient and staff care. As a result, Fairfield House was proud to be one of the first practices in Devon to have received the British Dental Association Good Practice Award and has now retained this award for five years.
