We’ve seen a lot of new technologies being introduced to help businesses – and individuals – use less paper. In fact, the whole movement of going paperless is a big thing among companies trying to go green and be friendlier to the environment. While these movements are positive, there are still areas where prints work best.

This is a trend that has been stealing attention this past year. Thanks to recycled paper and other forms of green technology being used in print productions, the trend is clearly getting more profound.  Companies and businesses are sticking to print documents for a number of reasons.

An Irreplaceable Feel

There are certain documents that you just can’t replace with digital files. When a business representative enters a meeting and must introduce the company it represents to the vendor or client, for example, a folder with a complete set of company profile is still the best way to go.

Fortunately, the same file can be reproduced using green, environmentally-friendlier materials. Folder printing, for example, can produce the same high quality document folders with corporate branding for various purposes. The process of producing these document folders is more efficient, while the selection of materials allows businesses to remain eco-friendly.

Other production methods and interesting details only enhance that sense of professionalism and the unique feeling produced by the documents even further. A UV-varnished logo at the top of the folder, for example, is a sure-fire way to grab the recipients’ attention.

Easier to Produce

It is also not surprising to find paper documents to be easier – and more affordable – to produce than they were a few years ago. Printers are becoming more and more efficient. Workers can now print documents from their computer and pick up the results from an entirely different room. This type of networked printing setup allows companies to monitor its printer and paper consumption to the last detail.

The same can be said for professional printing services. The document folders we talked about earlier can now be produced with the help of a very efficient industrial printing machine. Modern printing machines don’t only use ink more efficiently, they are also designed to work with a wider range of materials. This allows print service providers to offer recycled paper and other alternatives to clients.

Less Waste

While print documents, particularly special documents and office folders, are making a strong comeback, we’re not seeing an increase in paper waste. According to recent studies, more businesses now recycle and take advantage of reusable materials to help them stay efficient. Active steps such as printing on the other side of unused documents to save money are also being integrated into the office workflow.

The trend is not a bad one at all. Other parts of the business – and the industry as a whole – are taking active steps towards embracing the trend too. We’re seeing new, creative designs for office letterheads and folders as well as the use of reusable materials that are still in line with businesses’ attempts to be friendlier to the environment.
