Have You Had Yours Yet?

How do people know what your company has to offer if you don’t tell them?

You can put up a sign outside your business premises listing all the things you do, but if no-one comes by and sees your sign... It won’t matter how long you keep the sign up for! Hundreds of people might go past the sign, your sign could be the best sign ever made, but if no-one who reads your sign needs your product, what then?

You could advertise! Where? The options are enormous and can be very costly.

You could Network – you probably do – but is it slightly ‘same time – same place – same people’?

What about using your existing contacts? How often do you

1. Obtain the permission of clients to use their email addresses for marketing purposes, and...

2. Actually use those contacts for positive marketing proposals?

You might have been able to answer, “YES” to those very important questions, but there will still be people who don’t know what you do!

How about trying this: put on an Open Day! A freebie, an excuse for people to leave the office and come and actually see/try/feel what you do! Who’s going to pass-over the chance of a freebie?

Have an open day and invite everyone you can think of, everyone on your email data-base, absolutely everyone! Why not invite a few of your best suppliers to have a stand supporting you, they might even come in on the cost of the day with you! Get them to invite a few of their clients along and invite everyone on their data-base!

What better than a hands-on, full frontal experience to sell to all just what your business does! Don’t tell them, show them!

“Nick, I think that this ‘open day’ idea is such a good idea that we should have one ourselves! It’s January, it’s cold and the snow is here! What better way to raise a cheer, to brighten a local businessman’s (or woman’s) soul than to give local businesses the chance to network and to have some time out of the office ‘OAC Style’?  We could hold it in May when the sun will be shinning, spring will have sprung and the ground will have dried out enough to be able to drive on it! Where to hold it, when and who shall we invite? I’m sure we can think of a great venue, a venue which will be new to many of our contacts, a venue which can offer a great deal of scope for us to have demonstrations of all the activities we can provide. Now, who to send the invites to…?”

Good idea, Andy – I’ve booked it: 2nd May 2013 at our exciting NEW Venue and have contacted some of our ‘partners’ to see if they would like to come on board and share the event.

Over to you to sort the invites – go for it!

Have you had yours yet?
