Insolvency expert joins Everys Solicitors
Everys Solicitors in Exeter has welcomed insolvency expert Emma Davy to its team in Devon.
Formerly, head of insolvency at Kitsons in the city, Ms Davy has more than 15 years experience as a specialist insolvency solicitor dealing with all types of corporate and personal insolvency issues.
Everys’ newest associate acts for insolvency practitioners in contentious and non contentious matters, with particular expertise in business and asset sales, antecedent transaction litigation and the realisation of bankruptcy assets.
Ms Davy said: “I advise businesses in financial difficulty, directors facing claims arising out of insolvency and individuals dealing with personal guarantees. I act for banks and lenders in the realisation of both secured and unsecured loans, and for creditors in debt recovery matters generally.”
She added: “I have joined Everys because I was looking for a new challenge and I saw Everys as a forward-thinking and progressive firm where there was a good opportunity to establish and develop an insolvency and debt recovery presence.”
After completing her law degree at Exeter University, Ms Davy trained and qualified with Clarke Willmott before moving to Ashfords and then Kitsons.
She regularly speaks at seminars and training courses for insolvency professionals, and recently spoke at the University of Verona on international debt recovery. Ms Davy also sits as a Deputy District Judge on the Western Circuit.
James Griffin, managing partner of Everys Solicitors, said: “Securing Emma’s services is real coup for Everys and our clients. She is highly regarded among her legal colleagues and by the legal profession in general. She is rated in Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession 2013 as ‘tenacious and clever’ and her levels of service as ‘excellent’. We are delighted to welcome her to the firm.”
