Exeter and Crediton based law firm, Veitch Penny LLP, has appointed two new partners.

Alastair Dunnett and Catherine Rosewell were both previously associate solicitors at the firm's Exeter office. Their promotion to partner is part of the firm's medium term plan to grow its private client and litigation practice, having sold off its defendant insurance practice last year.

Alastair joined Veitch Penny as a trainee solicitor, qualifying in 2009. He specialises in private client matters, including all issues relating to property.

Catherine joined the firm originally as a Legal Secretary in 1999 before undertaking her legal studies to become a solicitor. She carried out her studies whilst working at Veitch Penny and qualified as a solicitor in January 2010. Catherine specialises in personal injury claims as well as general litigation.

Charles Dowell, Managing Partner at Veitch Penny, said: “Alastair and Catherine have made outstanding contributions to the firm and we are pleased to welcome them to the partnership.

Our restructure last year ensured we could concentrate on looking after the legal needs of clients in Exeter and beyond. Alastair and Catherine’s experience in private client law and litigation will help us to continue our growth in this market.

The promotion of Alastair and Catherine brings the total number of partners to five, supported by a team of 15 other legal professionals and support staff.
