Reboot is a growing name in the south west retail scene, and given the success of the chain it’s hard to believe it’s only been operating for a year. However, at the end of July 2014, established entrepreneur Matthew Conridge and his team of experienced and knowledgeable staff are celebrating a year in business - and what a year it has been.

Reboot Stores offer a buying and selling service with a difference. Customers are able to sell unwanted goods (such as CDs and DVDs, phones, games, computers and everything in between) for cash resale, safe in the knowledge that they will get the best possible market price. They can also buy goods with confidence thanks to the 6 month warranty on offer. Matthew knows the importance of meeting his clients’ varying needs, so an exchange service is also available, along with a ‘Text & Buy’ alert system and a ‘Pick & Pay Later’ scheme.

From a standing start in August 2013, Reboot has grown from one to five stores (Crediton, Exmouth, Paignton, Tiverton, St Austell with a sixth due to open in Exeter in August), and now employs 35 members of staff (14 of whom were unemployed before joining the team). The first year’s trading figures boast a significant six figure turnover, and Matthew is nothing short of delighted.

He says, ‘I had a clear vision of what I wanted to achieve in my first year of trading, but the figures have surpassed even my own expectations. There is a clear market need for the services that we offer and our customers have already come to associate Reboot with quality and reliability. I am ambitious about the future and already have plans in place for fast growth in the 2014-2015 period.’

Matthew himself is no stranger to success and his credentials speak for themselves. In 2010 he won the Federation of Small Businesses ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year’ award. In 2011 he went on to secure the Express and Echo’s prestigious title of ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year’, followed by the Institute of Directors ‘Young Director of the Year (SW England)’. In April 2014 he scooped ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ at the Express & Echo Business Awards.

As Reboot Stores enters its second year of trading, it is certainly ‘one to watch’ as Matthew puts his ambitious plans for growth into place. Check out their website www.rebootstores.co.uk to keep an eye on special offers and latest news.
