Situ Accommodation Agency expand into APAC region
Exeter based Situ Serviced Extended Stay Accommodation Agency announce expansion plans into APAC
In direct response to increased demand for extended stay accommodation options in the Asia-Pacific (APAC), Situ has surged ahead to increase its presence in the region.
Monika Meel has been appointed as a senior supply manager based in Bangalore. Her established accommodation network and connections have already made a difference, with over one hundred new supplier relationships in progress. Previously a sourcing manager at Acomodeo, Monika is well-versed in the complexities of the APAC market, understanding market location nuances, variations in accommodation models, and how to build relationships with both global hospitality chains (making an increased presence in the area) through to smaller independent operators. From Kawasaki in Japan through to her home turf in Bangalore and every location in between, Monika’s knowledge and reach across the region are phenomenal.
“It’s very exciting to be working with Situ,” says Monika, “a company that clearly has so much ambition and a great reputation for being a business that is good to work with. APAC accommodation operators are keen to connect and become part of the established Situ global supply chain.”
In addition, Situ is now working closely with STAAH, one of the leading channel and distribution management companies in the travel industry. STAAH’s platforms and systems enable thousands of accommodation operators to connect their live inventory directly with booking platforms such as staysitu.com. STAAH’s coverage in the APAC region is unprecedented, with more than 16,000 suppliers from all regions offering an array of accommodation, including serviced apartments, hotels, and vacation rentals. As a result, many locations across APAC are now bookable live on staysitu.com.
Managing Director of Situ, Phil Stapleton, says, “Expansion in the APAC region has been on our radar for a while. Many of our clients have requirements in the area, and we are receiving new requests daily. Having Monika on the ground and working with STAAH’s innovative and effortless integration technology is significantly opening up APAC for our clients”.
Seth Hanson, Head of Global Supply at Situ, goes on to say, “Working with STAAH is a game-changer for us. Its breadth of coverage across APAC, combined with its ability to directly plug the Situ proprietary API into its integration tool is making it much easier for us to do business in the region and to keep pace with demand.”
