Three new roles at Everys Solicitors
Everys Solicitors has appointed a new chief operating officer, commercial director and client services & compliance partner to its management team.
The Devon and Somerset firm, which has nine offices across the two counties, has promoted Claire Lovett to the COO role, appointed Bruce Brooker as commercial director and Stephen Forsey as compliance partner.
Mrs Lovett had been Everys’ resourcing & development manager, responsible for marketing, human resources, facilities and IT, and head of the residential property department ever since she moved to the Exeter office in 2011. Her new role gives her the responsibility for the day to day running of the firm.
Before joining Everys, Mr Brooker held executive positions at The Daily Telegraph and Associated Newspapers where he specialised in the management of all commercial functions, including circulation sales, marketing, promotions and new media.
He returned to Devon in 2007 and set up a regional activity gift voucher web business, as well as managing an exhibition and events business which ran the South West Christmas Equine Fair and the West Country Game Fair.
His new role will see him develop Everys’ corporate image and branded collateral while also encouraging new business and overseeing charitable and sponsorship involvements for the firm.
Based at the Taunton office, Mr Forsey specialised in wills, trusts and probate work before taking on this new role. He is the firm’s client services partner and recognised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority as the firm’s compliance officer for both the legal practice and the firm’s financial administration, and is also the compliance officer for the investment management department.
Managing partner James Griffin said: “I am delighted to announce these three new appointments. Claire was very efficient in her previous role and as such we have created this new position to accommodate the promotion she deserves.”
“Bruce’s background in countryside events sits well alongside our expertise in dealing with legal rural affairs while his commercial experience will no doubt enhance our brand and our position as one of the leading firms for family and business law in Devon and Somerset. Meanwhile, Stephen will make sure we comply with all the laws and best practice guidelines that govern our profession.”
