UK Business Games to be launched in January
A new venture for Exeter-based marketing agency Big Wave Media, the UK Business Games, will be officially launched by their ambassador Jo Pavey at a fun and motivational event in January.
‘An Evening with Jo Pavey’ will be a chance to find out all about the UK Business Games, plus enjoy Jo speaking about her profession and career.
The event, held in late January will take place at the Rougemont Hotel, Exeter.
Four-time Olympian Jo is a long distance runner, specialising in the 5000m and 10000m. She holds the second fastest time for the 10,000m in Britain and her time recorded in the London 2012 Olympic Games ranked her number one in Europe for 2012.
Her impressive career spans nearly 15 years, and even though she has recently become a mother for the second time, she has no intention of retiring yet.
Speaking about her appointment, Jo said: “I’m really looking forward to working with the UK Business Games. I am passionate about the promotion and support of sport and activity within communities and the Business Games fits this ethos perfectly.”
Big Wave Media are very excited about launching the successful Exeter Business Games model to other British towns and cities.
Discussing the expansion of the Business Games, Co-ordinator Debbi Moore said: “We really enjoy running the Games in Exeter and appreciate the opportunities it brings to local businesses. We believe that recreating this in other places will bring the same local boost and are hoping that plenty of places will want to get involved.”
The Business Games aim to facilitate the interaction of the local Business Community through a series of eight activities which include Tag Rugby, Mini Olympics, Clip’n’Climb and even a Pub Quiz, while raising money for local charities.
The Exeter Business Games have been run by Big Wave Media since 2011, and in that time has raised over £20,000 for local charities.
The Games enable companies to build stronger working relationships through the team building aspect of the activities, but more importantly are an effective networking platform for local business and often create new business opportunities for both teams and venues.
Entries for the 2014 Exeter Business Games are now open and a range of sponsorship opportunities are available. More information is available on the website, www.exeterbusinessgames.co.uk
