CAB fundraiser tests breadth of knowledge
Exeter Historic Guildhall was a hive of concentration for The Family Law Company’s quiz night in aid of Citizens Advice Exeter.
Teams battled it out for the coveted top spot, answering questions on topics including sport, current affairs and song lyrics.
The evening was opened by Lord Mayor of Exeter Councillor Peter Holland, and the erudite quiz master was TFLC solicitor Stephen Sowden.
A superb sum of more than £650 was raised through a combination of team entries plus a raffle held on the night with prizes including chocolates, prosecco and framed photos taken and donated by The Family Law Company MD Norman Hartnell.
Citizens Advice nationally is celebrating 80 years of providing services; on the day after WW2 began, 4 September 1939, the first 200 offices opened as an emergency service for those affected by the war. There is now a network of 300 independent CAB charities delivering services across the country.
