Charity appeals for winter woollies
It may be the middle of summer, but Children’s Hospice South West desperately needs donations of winter clothing for its shops. Jumpers, cardigans, winter coats, gloves and scarves - whatever you have will be gratefully received by them.
Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), which has shops in Fore Street and Paris Street in Exeter, has three hospices in North Somerset, Devon and Cornwall.
The charity relies almost exclusively on voluntary donations. Their shops are an important part of their fundraising and they are always in need of quality donations of clothing, toys, small furniture, electrical items, toys, books and bric-a-brac.
Every bag of stock that is donated to them does make a real difference. Just £30 worth of goods could buy medical consumables for one day. Many of the children require specialist equipment during their stay.
This equipment is vital to ensure that the children are as comfortable as possible and can spend time enjoying the surroundings of the hospice environment with their family.
You can deliver your donations to one of their hospices or to any of their shops. Alternatively, if you have large items of furniture, large quantities of donations or cannot transport your donations, they can collect them from you.
Please telephone their warehouse on 01271 378796 to make arrangements. To find your nearest CHSW shop, please visit http://www.chsw.org.uk/our-shops
Children’s Hospice South West plans to open 50 shops across the South West by 2018 and if you would like to volunteer at one of their shops or would like further information about other volunteering opportunities, either pop into your local CHSW shop or e-mail them at volunteering@chsw.org.uk
