Cakes, coffee and a chat with the neighbours have helped local housebuilders Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The five-star housebuilders put the kettle on at the Minerva development in Exeter last week as part of The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, inviting residents, neighbours and staff to join in for a morning of socialising.

Now the company has totted up the total and the event raised £142.68 for the extremely worthwhile charity.

Sales director Nicki Reid said the Macmillan coffee morning is a key date in the fundraising calendar and that the company always looks forward to joining in with the fundraising efforts.

“Cancer touches so many people’s lives and the coffee morning is a great way for everyone to get involved in the fundraising effort,’’ said Nicki. “It’s also a brilliant way to bring people together within new and existing communities. There’s nothing like getting to know your neighbours over a cuppa.”
