Festive charity evening at Hembury Court
Robert and Mandy Persey, owners of East Devon’s award-winning Hembury Court, raised an outstanding £1,660 for Macmillan Cancer Support at their charity festive evening on Wednesday night (12th December).
Those who came along for the evening enjoyed a wonderful selection of goodies from local producers such as Fine Country Lifestyle, Georgie Porgie’s Puddings and Roly’s Fudge. There was a delightful range of gifts on offer, including truly creative items from Kindred Rose. In addition, guests could enter a ‘Premier’ raffle to win luxury prizes which included a half day West Country Land Rover Experience for two people.
Commenting on this charity festive evening, Mandy Persey from Hembury Court says: “We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and, judging by the feedback we’ve had from those who attended, so did everyone who came along. The carol singing was a real highlight, it was very uplifting and light-hearted. It has definitely put us in the festive mood.” Mandy continues: “We’d like to thank everyone involved for their support and helping us to raise this significant amount for Macmillan Cancer Support.” Angela Lowe, fundraising manager for this charity in Devon, said she was thrilled with how the evening went.
Macmillan Cancer Support is the chosen charity of Premier Cottages. Premier Cottages is an organisation of independent self catering holiday cottage owners, including Hembury Court, brought together by the shared aim of providing the very highest quality self catering holiday accommodation.
The five star self catering cottages at Hembury Court (www.hemburycourt.co.uk) are located in a spectacular setting surrounded by an organic farm. The four luxury cottages are positioned around a courtyard and they sleep two, four, five or six people.
The four cottages can be booked individually for a week in the summer holidays or for a mid week break out of high season. The superb vaulted oak barns, that are part of the complex, allow a group of up to 17 people to have the exclusive use of all of the facilities. This allows a family or a group of friends to socialise or dine together in style.
The extra facilities of Hembury Court include a games room, an eight seater hot tub, fitness suite, large communal lounge, barbecue veranda with chiminea, games lawn and an abundance of parking.
Hembury Court is situated in the famous thatched village of Broadhembury in East Devon which lies between the M5 and the A303. It sits near an old Roman fort on the edge of the Blackdown hills between the two main rail lines that converge on the city of Exeter. Broadhembury is near the market town of Honiton and the beaches of Beer, Branscombe and Sidmouth. It offers the perfect setting to explore all that Devon has to offer.
