Hospiscare is asking people to test their mettle at this year’s Rock Solid Race on March 15 in aid of the local hospice charity.

With spaces for the Rock Solid Race, taking place at Escot Park, now 97 per cent full, Hospiscare is appealing for anyone who is yet to sign up, to join the Hospiscare team and raise money for a great cause as they face the unique obstacle course.

Hospiscare fundraiser Celia Wilkinson said: “Rock Solid was such a great event for us last year. Everyone who took part for Hospiscare had so much fun getting completely covered in mud as they pulled and pushed themselves to the finish line.

“If people have already signed up to take part and are considering raising money for charity, we would love them to consider raising money for their local charity Hospiscare, helping us to provide care and support to people with a terminal diagnosis.”

Extreme mud swamps, water features and obstacles will make up the 10k Rock Solid and 5k Dash courses around the 1200 acre estate of Escot Park.

While the course is tough, it also gives people the chance to compete and work as a team, helping each other to the finish line.

Celia said: “The teamwork shone through last year. Our Hospiscare team really stood out because of our bright orange shirts, so anyone who fell behind was helped along by fellow supporters.

“Hospiscare supports people at such a difficult time in their lives, and it was really great to see our Rock Solid team supporting each other at the event as they raised money for our patients.”

Hospiscare raise and spend almost £5m a year to care for more than 2,000 patients and their families. 88p in every pound donated to Hospiscare goes straight to patient care.
