Around 100 LV= staff gave up their time on Friday to man the phone lines for BBC Children in Need.

The Exeter call centre staff were supported by Exeter Chiefs players Sam Skinner and Stu Townsend, who served drinks and snacks during the first part of the evening.

The volunteers handled over 2,000 calls between 6.45pm and 11pm, taking in excess of £60,000 in donations and pledges.

Steve Knight, Chief Operating Officer at LV= said: “We’ve worked with Children in Need for seven years now, however,  this is the first time we have opened our Exeter call centre.

“It was a fantastic success. The team had a great time.”
