Pens Unlimited donates to male cancer charity

Newton Abbot based family run business, Pens Unlimited, has donated 1,500 custom branded pens to the charity Realblokes.

Realblokes was founded in January 2014 after one of the team member’s friends sadly lost a battle with cancer. Real Blokes raises money in association with Cancer Relief UK and aims to generate awareness of male cancers. Scott Harrington, team member of the charitable group says:

“There is a lot of talk about women’s cancers and the delicate nature of the female body but what a lot of people don’t realise or talk about, is the delicate nature of men’s bodies and the cancers that affect men.”

Realblokes started their campaign fundraising with the #Realblokes hashtag on Twitter. The group hosts regular Twitter auctions whereby people can donate money for items such as pens and key rings. In one Twitter auction, 5 donated key rings received over £225 in donations. The branded pens donated from Pens Unlimited will be used in Twitter auctions and in any way in which money can be raised for Realblokes and its work with Cancer Relief UK.

Realblokes will also be launching a calendar in November featuring real men and two celebrities photographed in a Calendar Girls style shoot. Pens Unlimited have pledged to continue their support for the Realblokes campaign with annual donations of up to 5000 pens and ICO3 will be creating a supporting banner for the Pens Unlimited website.
Lesley Dickinson, owner of Pens Unlimited says of the Realblokes campaign:

“Pens Unlimited are proud to support this worthwhile campaign and hope our contributions can raise lots of money for them.”
