Local charity Hospiscare is looking for cycling enthusiasts to fill its spaces at the 2014 Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100.

The public ballot for the exciting cycling event closed when it reached capacity of 80,000 people in just one month.

Hospiscare is delighted to have nine golden bond places available for the 2014 event and is looking for keen cyclists to help support the charity.

Last year the local hospice charity had seven supporters take part in the event who between them raised over £4,500.

The race is taking place on Sunday August 10, 2014, and is part of the Mayor of London’s new annual festival of cycling - helping to create a legacy from the 2012 Olympics.

In 2013 more than 15,000 amateur cyclists completed the inaugral Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 on Sunday 4 August; cycling 100 miles from Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, around some iconic London hot spots and out into the Surrey Hills, before returning down The Mall in central London.

Jim Lee who took part in the 2013 cycling race for Hospiscare said: “I really enjoyed the ride in London, it was a great event, well organised & very well supported by the public.

“Riding up the Mall, crossing the finish line & receiving a medal at the end with crowds of people cheering made me feel like an Olympic champion - a brilliant day.”
